The two cameras come with one power supply and a 2 way power splitter that would be plugged in at the same location as the DVR. Each camera cable is 65 feet, but the power connections are at each end of the cable for easy setup.
A:AnswerGreat question Tom.
An internet connection is not required for viewing this system. You can simply download footage from the DVR to a thumb drive for easy viewing. It will even record based on motion!
A:AnswerThank you for your question JB.
The frame rate can be changed from 1 frame per second, up to 30 frames per second. This will affect how much footage can be stored at a given time.
A:AnswerGreat question Lesa,
This sounds like the DVR may not be set to a compatible resolution. An HDTV from 2009 may only support 720p, the DVR will be set to 1080 resolution by default. You may need to connect it to a compatible display first to change this setting.
A:AnswerThank you for your question wonder. The DVR itself has 4 RCA audio inputs, the cameras themselves are not audio enabled. You will need to locate a third party audio capture solution, please also be sure to research local laws regarding audio recording.
A:AnswerThank you for your question Gorda.
These cameras have up to 100 feet of infrared nightvision in complete darkness, up to 130 feet when there is ambient light (streetlights etc).
A:AnswerHi Dean,
Thank you for your question. It is difficult to say for certain, you may be best to contact local installers in your area for more information.
A:AnswerThanks for the great question Mark. The cameras will need to be wired to the DVR using the included 60ft cables plus extensions in 60ft and 120ft lengths if needed. For an internet connection, the DVR will need to be connected to your router with an Ethernet cable.
A:AnswerGreat question Zach, the number of channels on the DVR is the maximum number of cameras the DVR can have connected. In this case, 4 channels means 4 cameras maximum.
A:AnswerGreat question Lacy! We are unable to provide an exact answer to this question as there are many factors to consider, such as the method of recording used, ie: motion or continuous and also how much motion is detected. Thank you for your interest in Defender!
