Great question Pauli, The cameras do have a disconnect at 8 feet through the 16 feed of included power cord. They are tested down to 14 degrees Fahrenheit but they can withstand lower temperatures. We are located in Niagara Falls Canada and had a particularly bitter winter with no issues. Please take into account that wind chill does not affect cameras.
