• Yes other camera brand will work they have a similar connect as usual type, just compare the connectors

• Yes, you can use other cameras. However I recommend using a 1080P camera for the best quality. I have a couple cameras that are 1300TVL. The quality is still good but not as good as 1080P. It also depends where you get them from. My 1300TVL cameras were purchased from an online auction site. You might be familiar with it. The price can vary.
