Does it continue to work if power goes off? null

Great question Faye. The DVR itself doesn't have a battery backup. Once power is restored however, the system will power back on and continue to record using your previously set options.

I don't believe so, but I have not had a power shortage. I absolutely love this system. It has great clarity.

No. It is ran on a 12V system though so could be modified to do so. There may be something you can purchase for it.
