Hello Badhood, thank you for the questions. The night vision on the Defender Guard works up to 30m(100ft) and uses pixel disruption to detect movement. So as soon as a pixel on the camera changes it will begin to record the movement. The camera does pick up sound and it will record the audio with the video footage.
