Thanks for a great question Issy. The cameras and Monitor include their own power adapters, these power adapters are required to ensure safe operation of the cameras and monitor. The use of any 3rd party power sources is not supported by Defender. This system does not have remote viewing features, it can only be viewed on the included monitor which must be within the wireless range of the cameras (450 feet maximum, 150 feet optimum).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.NO...you do not need wifi, the only problem is that it says that it has night vision and it looks clear, but it is not like that, it looks dark, but in the day it is clear. At night it does not work, you do not see almost anything.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I dont have it connected to my homes Wi-Fi at all. It's on its own network. You plug it in where ever you want to view it. The range is 40 feet from the cameras I believe. I will say it records everything. It's kinda annoying. But I wanted a monitor.. So it's the best I could find.
