“I have the BP-9080ST towers (insanity!) and am thinking that the CS9080, with its 255W powered sub, is overkill. Anybody pair a "lesser" center channel (say, the 9060 or 9040)? If so, did you regret it?”

Not overkill at all! I have four of these BP9080 tower speakers with a pair of SR9080 speakers and the CS9080 center speaker you mentioned. Movies, games, music, you name it, everything sounds insanely great! Totally worth the investment but watch for discounts!

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have the CS9080 and to me.... no it's not over kill. You need it if you have the Bp9080st to match the sound particularly at higer volumes. Can you get away with a lesser cs model? Yes but it's that piece of mind knowing that you're all matched up!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You've gone for insanity and the fantastic 9080s. You have to go with the CS9080. It's also awesome. Not overkill, just more insanity and pure enjoyment. P.S. Watch out for sale prices. It was recently $799 not $999 at Best Buy.
