A:AnswerThese speakers have a tweeter and mid-range speaker so any desirable bass is lost. They are supposed to cover surrounding sounds and therefore don't need any extended range. I would always have a subwoofer to experience the full range of sound as well as the feel it gives you. That said you do what your budget will allow maybe add a subwoofer at a later date. One last thing a wall mound speaker is not mounted in an enclosure therefore it will never give you the same sound as an enclosed speaker would, hope that helps you......
