“Does anyone else have loud fan issues? My Dell 17.3 sits on a flat granite countertop. The fan constantly screams on high. Its been that way out of the box. any suggestions?”

• I would return it and get a replacement. My G7 does not make that noise.

• Use the Alienware Command Center and adjust your performance/fan profiles per application. Also be sure you don't have some software constantly running in the background. Undervolt the cpu by -150mv using Throttlestop and the CPU will run much cooler and likely perform better. Best of luck.
