I had to go to Walmart and buy a separate HDMI cord because the one provided only hooks to a laptop. Once I got the additional cord and connected it to my desktop, the camera and microphone worked. Pretty annoying that it isn't included or explained. I had to do some YouTube and Googling to figure it out.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. My 8-year-old desktop computer does not have any USB-C ports, so the USB-C cable that comes with the monitor is of no use. Therefore I connected the computer to the monitor with an HDMI cable. For the camera and microphone to work, I found in the user's guide for the monitor the instruction: "If the computer does not support USB-C, use a USB Type-A to USB-C cable (sold separately)." This works. (Somewhere along the way I found suggestions to use a USB-A to USB-C "adapter" -- but when I looked into those, they would be described as not supporting video.)
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It works when connecting the monitor via USB-C to the computer. The same cable will run video from the computer to the monitor, use the speakers on the monitor and the camera as well, and also power the laptop. If you're using the HDMI or DisplayPort connection to the monitor, speakeers will still work but the camera won't. If your computer doesn't have any USB-C ports with video out, the camera could still work with an USB-A to USB-C cable, but using either DisplayPort or HDMI for video.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. After raising my webcam, I did not have any problems with the webcam. BE sure to go into the windows settings make sure they are configured correctly. I am only using a single USB-C cable between the monitor and the laptop. Nothing extra, it works great.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The connection that the monitor wants is USB-C to a laptop. The very first time I opened the webcam after the connection was made (and power was on to both as another tech commented) the camera worked. The main reason I made this purchase was because of Dell's USB-C ports. I have not had any attempts with other connections such as HDMI. Hope this helps. @amyvansolutions
