I've had the same problem for a long time, but the latest Nvidia driver seems to have finally fixed the problem. I'm running version 442.50.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Its just an issue between the refresh rate and gsync working usually. The easiest remedy is to turn the screen off and on. Or you can disable the deep sleep function if it happens when you wake up your computer. There is no damage being done with either remedies or the vertical line in general. I had the same issues but not since I took off deep sleep. Never had the issue during startup either, only when I woke up the monitor.
