with the correct cables, anything can be connected to this monitor. What you have to consider is whether you have the correct cable to broadcast your ipad 2 screen in 4K. For example: using an HDMI cable directly from my PC to the monitor, I am able to get only 1080 resolution. using Display Port (PC) to HDMI (monitor), I am able to achieve the full 4K experience. Some newer PC's may have the latest HDMI firmware to broadcast 4K over HDMI, but most of them (including mine) have changed over to DisplayPort and left the HDMI port (if even still on the board) at the prior version that only supports 1080. For PC users, there are some USB to HDMI adapters available. You have to make sure you get a USB3.0 to HDMI and you have to make sure it is a 4K HDMI out. The first ones available only do 1080.
