Bought this for my son who is a junior in college studying physics. He does do gaming but this computer he also uses for academics. It’s capable of handling both

Please try again later.No, the only thing that makes this a “gaming computer” is that it has higher end specs (i.e. external graphics cards, 16gb of memory, and i7 processor) than what you would find in a lower priced laptop. You absolutely can use this for grad school. Buying a computer with high end specs typically means you will get longer use out of it before it becomes outdated or can’t run the latest software applications.
