“Is the M.2 drive on this machine a SATA based or a NVME based?”

• SSD is SATA in M.2 formfactor. Ran CrystalDiskmark, and seq read/right was around the 400-500 MB/s Would prefer NVMe PCIe, but for a GTX1060 plus i7 Coffeelake, $1,079, I wasn't expecting to see NVMe PCIe SSD.

• Previous guys is wrong. Don't trust what DELL says on its website. The BBY SKU DID NOT COME WITH NVMe SSD. It's SATA.

• Be wary of this. Best Buy very often gets models that differ from the manufacturer's website. Being as they do not indicate anything about this drive being an M.2 drive, it's possible it's just a standard 2.5" SATA SSD so they could cut back on costs. Not saying that's the case, I am only saying that's a possibility.

• it is both, sata and nvme. but remember the sata is limited to 128gb max. while the biggest nvme drive you can install is a 1tb.
