I would check with the college before buying. There are too many variables and potential software requirements to really answer your question. For instance, my daughters college required not just Apple products but specific Apple products. This chromebook will do basic Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. It has limited graphics capability and memory. Be very careful what you buy If the college uses online textbooks.
