“Is the Optane memory right on the NVME drive stick itself or is this a separate drive? I ask because I will eventually want to upgrade the storage to 1tb or more and want to know if I need to seek out a custom NVME so I don't lose the Optane feature”

The laptop will have the M.2 2280 Intel Optane Memory H10 and the Intel Optane Memory will be the primary drive. We suggest you to not do any third party or non-Dell aftermarket upgrade, as that can void the system’s warranty. We suggest you to contact the Dell Technical support team regarding this query.
