I see Dell says an HDD can be added. Is there a maximum thickness? Would like to take the drive out of my Mom’s old laptop and put it in as extra storage space but want to make sure it’s not too thick. null

@YourDellTeam. Thanks. Without a service tag, the dell website doesn’t help. Just want to know if the 2.5 drive is limited to 7mm, or mm what thickness?

Dell recommends  2.5-inch SATA hard-drive, up to 6 Gbps to be added. Please reach out to the Dell support team for more details on the HDD upgrade.

Thickness. It’s a thing. 7mm, 9mm, etc. 

I found that our inspiron did not fit all 2.5 drives. I want to know if this one is limited to 7mm drives too.
