• Although the description says it doesn't have an optical reader, I purchased this model and it most certainly has a CD/DVD drive. I have not used it yet to speak for its capabilities, but no need to purchase a separate drive.

• It comes with a DVD +/- RW already. Check your box. It says what is included. Look on right side of keyboard. There is a button near the top right most key = "end" on the side of the laptop. Pressing that opens the door. Don't force it open, it slides out easily by pulling on the edge.

• you can use an external usb connection...i use an external bluray dvd rewriter by samsung ...costs about $85 dollars
