It should handle everyday use & multitasking. As for the download and upload speed, that depends on your internet(the laptop has 10/100 for Ethernet and you can use B, G and N for the wifi). As for HD screen viewing, I have no idea, but it might. Also, on the main page, if you scroll down just click on the "Specifications" tab if you'd like more info about the laptop!
