What region DVD can be played? Does anyone know what type of region DVD this laptop will play? Is it a region 1 only or an all region DVD player? Can I play region 2 DVDs on it?

At the initial use, it doesn't specify the region and you get to assign the region you need. I used Region 1 for US but it will allow you to change or toggle between regions up to a certain number of times.

Plays all, computers are not generally restricted by regions - that is more a DVD player restriction.

Right click on DVD Drive icon and select Properties.
Click Hardware tab, Select Type 'DVD/CD-ROM drives', click Properties.
Click DVD Region tab, select the corresponding region.
Please note there is a limit on changing the region.
