Can the memory be upgraded or is 8gb the MAX? null

There is an empty RAM/memory slot according to Belarc analysis. However, there is no access door on the bottom of the unit to access memory slots or Hard Drive. I suppose I could do a major teardown to access motherboard, but that is a major hassle/risk. I am thinking about returning unit
