You can go to many sites to compare processor speeds. One such site is: http://cpu.userbenchmark.com. I'm sure if you google a bit you can figure out what the 'U' means. The processor in this laptop is a 7th generation i5 Intel processor. The number has nothing to do with the disk speed. This computer has the older standard laptop drive speed of 5400 RPM (see the specs).
