none of the f keys work null

Use the FN key --- Hold down the FN key and then press the ' f ' key you want to use, you can this is the settings if you dont want to use the FN key to access the ' f ' keys. if you do switch the FN key option you will need to press it to use the volume, brightness and other like keys,
