• Not sure, you will have to check the manufactures specs on i the external drive you own. I have an LG External and it works on both a mAc and a PC.

• I think so, I purchased an off brand external CD player and had no issues-- it was just plug and play. I cant comment however on compatibility with an apple product except to say I can transfer info from my IPhone without problems
