“This has 2 Thundebolt on the left. One has a lighting bolt & one has lighting bolt & battery symbol. What is the purpose of these? Do they both charge?”

Both are the exact same, charge with either port.

The lightning bolt symbol denotes the Thunderbolt port. Near the Thunderbolt port, this laptop also has a Power and battery-status light that indicates the power state and battery state of the computer. NOTE: On certain computer models, the power and battery-status light are also used for diagnostics.
