“I want to buy this computer and ship it to the Philippines for nephew who is a student there. Will this computer function in the Philippines? I ask because Of a comment about another brand being sold would not function in certain foreign countries”

Yes, this system would work without any issues and is an excellent choice for students. However, we suggest you have the Dell's Premium Support warranty purchased with the system for international support. The current warranty sold with this system is valid only in the region of purchase.
