Yes! Night and day difference between USB 2 and 3. Super fast on thumb drives too, can move a 4GB file in about 8-10 seconds.

If I remember correctly, if you transfer a single large file, it'll always transfer faster than if you transfer 1000 tiny files. It's just the nature of how it works. Still, I've used both USB 3 and 2, and once you see the difference you never want to use another USB 2 port for transfer.
