Is there room to add a decent soundcard and possibly a small graphics card.I know it will probably require a more powerful power supply which can be done but not internally as in inside the cabinet. null

It does have an open PCI express x16 slot. You can add a low profile graphics card. Not sure the Power supply can handle it though. 
I checked with Dell and the power supply is a mere 240 watts...

No. A discreet graphics card absolutely won't fit (heat sinks). Power supply is fine as-is. So is the sound card. Get good amplified speakers
