It depends on what you are using it for. If you want a laptop that has decent battery life, will run the usual youtube, pandora, word document/google docs all at the same time, and want to play some games on the side, this laptop is great. If you are just going to use it for papers and web surfing, I would look at something that has a lower Graphics card and perhaps not as powerful a processor. A 500GB HDD, with 4-8 GB RAM and i5 processor will be plenty for that. Hope this helps

Yes. The integrated number keypad makes it great for things like excel sheets. Powerful and good memory.
