- Answer Yes, but keep in mind, if you want to use the 'variable refresh rate' feature, you'll need a freesync compatible AMD gpu. (Won't work on nvidia) Also, this monitor only support 75hz, and has a moderate response time, For Gaming a 1ms (tn panel) monitor with 120+ hz would be MUCH better, especially intensity games. They're around the same price range, and are significantly better for gaming.

- Answer Yes, this will work with the Mac Book Pro and yes, you can split the screen or extend the display and open two separate Windows, one on the Mac and other on the monitor.
