• I asked Dell about this and they said at least 900GB is available for the user.

• It means that the ssd is partitioned so that 512gb is dedicated towards operating the system, while the other half is for your personal files and programs

• The 512GB refers to the operating memory. The 1TB refers to the SSD (storage) capacity. The laptop comes with Win10 Home.
