Speaking with dell, they recommend the precision line. They’ll help you build it too. However, I’m using it for electrical engineering and it does the job. This was a budget choice. Best Buy won’t price match Dell directly.You can always upgrade the RAM and HD if needed later on. This laptop is almost the top of the line model for XPS.
