QuestionI would like to know if there is a control knob that can limit the amount of steam that comes out of the machine. Switching it over to brew doesn't cut it because it just continues the brewing process and puts more coffee into the decanter.

- Answer Hello Brougham, you can control the steam using the steam setting and it is released through the frothing nozzle. There is no specific function to control the amount of steam that comes out of the unit. Thank you.

- Answer it needs no fliters at all, the included two portafilter baskets contain a permenant filter at the bottom of two layers, plastic, and then stainless steel with even smaller holes. dishwasher safe although only a quick rinse is nescesarry.
