I have the Bose Acoustimass 6 in addition to 2 Bose 161 speakers connected to this receiver and it works great. It will also play Dolby Atmos if the Blu-Ray supports it or Dolby TrueHD, all store representatives including the Bose store employees will tell you that Bose does not support Atmos but that is only in regards to Atmos enabled speakers which are only needed if you don't mount the speakers to your ceiling.
