I got this on Black Friday for $130 off. Ordered it online and it was free shipping, So no fighting the crowds, doesn't get much better then that. I replaced an older Onkyo A/V receiver that I am giving to my son. I was skeptical but read the many reviews here and on Amazon. Well so far it has met my expectations and I LOVE the Bluetooth feature. I am running a 5.2 Klipsch system. 2-floor standing R28F fronts, R25C center, R15M for rear surrounds, and 2- R10SW subs. Well, it took me a little to get it dialed into my liking, but I'm very happy with this set up. Sounds great and the Black Friday prices and service were the best.

Not Perfect But Excellent For The Price

Exceptional for the price. Arm yourself with good speakers. In order Dolby Atmos to work you need Atmos enabled speakers. Firmware updates and setup are a breeze. The iOS app works great on wi-fi. My main issue was HDMI handshake drops between PS4 when watching Blu-ray. I fixed this with a HDMI 1.4 UltraHD cable on Amazon ($5) and no issues afterwards. Great value and compact size for under $500.

Coming from a personal and professional line of experience with music/DJ equipment, I have longed wondered what the Denon products were truly like. I read the reviews and finally came across an excellent Best Buy deal. I paired this 7.2 4k ultra receiver to my Polk and Onkyo speakers. The result? Phenomenal! The 2-zone operations is a champ. I appreciate the distinct acoustics. I cannot believe I am retiring my Onkyo receiver. No regrets. Denon has aimed to please. I have been using theBluetooth feature with music from my Galaxy 5. Excellent play!

Pros: • It comes with a microphone to calibrate the surround sound • Supports 7.2, but works great as 5.1 • Supports 2 zones • Android app for controlling various functions of the receiver • Bluetooth streaming from Android phone shows song information on screen (artist / album / track) Cons: • As of this writing (12/28/2015), it still does not support DTS:X. I did apply a firmware update after initial installation, but it would seem that it requires another future firmware update to enable this promised feature. • The user interface is very basic and ugly. • Some of the network based features, like Internet Radio and Pandora, do function – but the user interface makes it difficult to use. • Playing from a NAS is clunky, at best. Other thoughts: I’m still not sure if it’s got a 24 or 32 bit DAC. I can’t find the information anywhere. But at this price point, I would assume it’s a 24 bit. It still sounds great, even when streaming over Bluetooth. Despite the downsides, I find that this A/V receiver is a great value considering the features it gives you at it's price point.

I was in the market for a new receiver due to my 7.2 surround Onkyo being a little dated and not having sufficient HDMI inputs for my devices. I looked at several brands and decided to settle on Denon - helping that decision was a sale price that couldn't be ignored. The receiver was very easy to setup and configure due to an onscreen setup wizard. This wizard was very detailed and thorough, giving suggestions on speaker placement, as well as performing an Audyssey sound setup. One of the neat things about the sound setup is that Denon not only provided the Audyssey microphone, but also a sturdy, adjustable, cardboard mic stand for positioning purposes - great job. Once configured, the sound is very detailed and crisp, but powerful. There are several listening modes, but not an overwhelming number. The presets sounds are better than decent, so the average user/listener would have no problem enjoying great sound without much tinkering. This receiver comes with 6 HDMI inputs, plenty to hook up all your devices, and it offers WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, basically allowing limitless connectivity capabilities. There is decent music service support built right into the box (Spotify, Pandora, XM, etc.), and you can even use DNLA to connect devices that support this technology. The setup options offer a vast amount of control over the configuration - volumes, crossovers, input configuration, TV sync, and much more. There is zone support for both wired and wireless speakers - yes you can add additional Bluetooth speakers throughout the house and control when sound is played through them - making this a possible whole home media control center. This is a very good receiver with a ton of features, great build quality, and decent power.

The older I get the less I want to spend time setting up new gadgets. Wanted a receiver that would enhance my home theatre experience and be simple to setup. This Denon receiver delivered what I had hoped for. It comes with multiple HDMI inputs, so it easily covered all the components I wanted to connect. Unit also comes with Wifi and Bluetooth and these were easy to setup. The only area that caused any trouble was calibrating my speakers to the receiver. The reason was this unit has multiple channels for speakers and I have the basic two in front, two in back, center and subwoofer. Once the correct match was made the speaker calibration process completed smoothly. Estimate total setup time to be an hour to an hour and a half. To this point and time the receiver has delivered what I was looking for to enhance my theatre experience.

A few years ago I had picked up a different Denon receiver on open box special and it was okay for a while. Knowing Denon to be a solid brand, we decided to replace it with this new receiver. Wow! This receiver HAD to be easy to operate by any adult in the house. Home run! Right out of the box, connect it to your flat screen and just walk through the setup. If you can read and follow basic directions, it takes you step-by-step completely though using the Bluetooth, connecting to the Internet (multiple online services ready to go like Spotify, Pandora and more). I even found podcasts ( but I am not sure whose service is populating their feed- it certainly wasn't iTunes), internet radio , easily hooked up our blue ray and Roku. The remote is simple as well...even to activate the two zone settings (so I can stream music or listen to the game while at the grill while kids watching something entirely different at the same time. It may not have every bel and whistle but dang sure is a lot of bang for the buck!

Setup of the Denon was easy with a good set of connections. The spilt audio/video connections however are a bit odd when connecting a component video device. SOUnd is great and the Bluetooth connectivity works well. Also like the built in internet radio.

I purchased this a/v receiver as a replacement for a previous Denon. I had good results but needed the 4K output because I purchased a new TV. Within 30 days the receiver stopped working. I think it was the HDMI output. Best Buy replaced the unit. When the unit was working it preformed as expected, easy to use and good results.. I would also suggest that when the unit needs an update, unless you have a very strong Wi-Fi signal or are directly connected do not update this way. Use a thumb drive. Even though my unit needed replaceing I would buy again.

This is a great receiver for average homeowner needs. It has plenty of power and volume, while delivering crisp sound. The setup was easier, and it runs much cooler than the Onkyo it replaced that eventually cooked itself. Twice. After about 4 months of use I have no complaints.

Purchased to replace an earlier Denon model. The profile is somewhat large, but comparable to other receivers with similar capabilities. Setup was easy, though the calibration takes a little while - set aside 30 minutes start to finish for installation if you want the full work up. Sound is great and highly customizable. Only minor complaint is that the remote app doesn't always seem to manage multiple zones properly, and the Internet connection resets itself once in a great while, which will of course interrupt streaming music.

It was time to update my home audio receiver. After much time reading reviews and doing my homework, this Denon AVR-S710 had everything I needed and more. I have owned this unit two months now. Setup was a breeze with the on screen display. It's great to have all the features of this unit, such as Wi-Fi and all the HDMI connections. After the Audyssey MultEQ setup, I did go in and make a few adjustments to my sound preference. Overall, I am very happy with this receiver.

I have a 7-1 surround sound speaker system built in to the walls and ceiling of my living room and this receiver really makes them come to life! If you buy a new high tech TV, you must have this receiver to get the full effect of what your TV is capable of! I've caught myself looking behind me or to the side of me to find out where certain sounds were coming from. This is a must have receiver to go with a new TV, especially when watching action films!

The Denon AVR-S710W is a good performing receiver. It provides clear music and surround sound playback. It has plenty of power to handle surround sound from action movies. The setup was easy, but I did have to reset the receiver after a couple of weeks because it stopped connecting to Bluetooth devices. A reset to factory settings and Bluetooth re-pairing corrected the issue. Overall I am very pleased with this purchase and would recommend it to friends.
