“Sound Issues A coworker has purchased this product and has picture with no sound. Does he have to get speakers or does the system support sound through the HDMI TV OUT connection and must it be turned on?”

I used an optical connection from my TV to the Denon receiver, and then selected that connection with the Denon remote, and that feeds the sound thru the speakers that I have connected to the receiver.

Please try again later.If you're using the receiver for sound, I don't think the sound would come through the HDMI out, it would come through the speakers attached to the receiver. So the only thing I can think of is that the wrong input is selected. Try both the "DVD/Blu-ray" and "Blu-ray" inputs.
