Does the remote control use IR or RF? null

Remote appears to be IR as it is line of sight. Placed 3/4” plywood in front of unit to simulate cabinet door and the remote did not operate the receiver. However, remote does not have to be pointed directly at the unit to operate. If installed in a cabinet you would need a Logitech controller with IR remotes or similar unit.
