According to the a/v professional that set mine up yes. Right now it’s set up in my livingroom with surround sound. He said I could wire 2 more speakers to a bedroom or my back porch. That way someone could watch tv or a movie and those outside could listen to music. Also can play music off my phone through the receiver.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, this is exactly how I use this receiver. Family can watch TV in living room (Zone 1) and I can listen to music in the Study (Zone 2). Volume operates independent. Unit can also play the same source in both zones as well, so we have music filling the downstairs area. This is a great receiver. Been very happy with it!
