Yes, a six year old would. It has sub-titles and reads it out loud and if you get the answer incorrect it lets you keep trying.

Please try again later.Though I feel your child would enjoy the title if they're a Pokemon fan, there's a lot of text in the game and not all of it may be understood if one is just learning to read. You also have to remember what characters have told you in their "interrogations" to complete the deduction minigames present. I could see some frustrations coming up trying not only to read unfamiliar words, but remembering them as evidence towards the case. On the same token, depending on how much the child likes Pokemon, this could be a great way to get them to read something slightly more advanced that they will enjoy all the while.
