“My computer has been slowing down lately. The last time I shut it down it updated itself. Since then, when I turn my computer on, the keys light up, I hear it turn on, but the screen remains black. How can I get the screen to work?”

Did you check to see if maybe you accidentally turned off the monitor? You stated a computer, so I am assuming you have a stand alone monitor.
