• I don’t know about sand but it definitely picks up fine dirt. I’m amazed at what I empty each time I use it

• It will be perfect. This vacuum has a brush that can be turned on when needed for your rug or your tile floor. I have wood flooring and the suction is very powerful. I hope this helps.
