“Does the installation include uninstalling the old dishwasher or should the space be emply?”

Installation includes taking out the old dishwasher. If you want it hsuled awzy, there is an extra fee of around $50 but it is worth every penny to get rid of the old one.

They pulled the old one and installed the new one. They even took the old one away

Yes, they did removed/unhooked the old dishwasher and installed the new dishwasher.

They uninstalled the old dishwasher and took it away. We paid a fee for removal from the property.

There is an option to pay for your old dishwasher to be hauled away. I chose to do that so the technicians removed my old dishwasher and installed the new one.
