The smart controller that comes with the advanced package for both the air two in the Mavic three, is the same as the $1200 individual smart controller that Best Buy offers. It is worthwhile buying the advanced units that include the smart controller, because you save some money.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The smart controller is worth it - its a very bright screen, easily visible in sunlight. Its actually an android computer, so you can install andriod apps. For example, i use mine with a screen mirroring program to push output to a 12.9" ipad pro for others to observe. you do need to tether it to your phone to get the internet and GPS data for live updates. Look at best buy, you can get the same Air2S with the new RC Pro smart controller for the exact same price. At some point it will go up by 750, but right now they are discounting it. Smart Controller Pros: don't need to use your phone or ipad big bright screen long battery life HDMI output Cons: More $$ Regular Controller: Pros: :Less $$ can use mount for larger ipad or other tablet (but it can get awkward to use this way) Cons Must use own phone, difficult to extend and hold phone and plug in Phones and tablets can be difficult to see in the bright sunlight must change remote cables depending on device have to buy 3rd party tablet holder if you go that route
