A:Answer Remote ID has passed. It's going to happen. We (and they) just don't know how yet. Drone manufacturers will start putting a beacon/transmitter inside of future drones, but as far as drones that are already in consumer's hands, they really aren't sure yet. Rumor has it that they originally wanted us drone owners to send our drones back to the manufacturer for them to open our drones, install remote ID and then send them back. That won't work, because some drone manufacturers went out of business, not everyone will send in their drones, and manufacturers would become overwhelmed with the response. So now the talk is... We fill out a registration form and send it in, the FAA programs a little beacon/transmitter and sends it to us to be attached to our drones. It should be about the size of a Flytron Strobon strobe light. It will either be attached with Velcro or glue. There's not too much known right now. A lot of old timers in the drone world actually think that implementation of remote ID will fail. How big of a team would you need to make millions of the little devices, program them with your information and register every drone owner (millions) with their device number in a database. And some drone owners have more than one drone!!!
