Yes, there is an SD slot for memory and internal memory. (see https://youtu.be/XY8nDhi8QKw) As for insurance, I think you have to buy it directly from DJI. I hope this helps.

The drone does record up to 8 GB of footage/pictures internally and has a micro SD card slot for further expansion. 2) DJI Care Insurance is not included in the fly more combo. Hope this helps.
