Yes it can be used as a dash cam. Especially for high intense activities.

For professional dash cam functions, such as starting recording when the vehicle is started, recording vehicle speed and other information, it is recommended that you purchase a professional dash cam. When Osmo Action 4 is used as a dash cam, its performance may be affected by such factors as “operating time” and “overheat”, and recording will be stopped. If possible, please follow the usage recommendations below: 1) Do not mount the battery, and use a USB-C cable to supply power; 2) Protect the camera from the sunlight; 3) Mount the camera on the windward side, and keep it away from heat-producing devices. The audio recording effect of Osmo Action 4 may be affected by the wind noise during driving. To record audio, it is recommended that you enable Wind Noise Reduction or use the camera with an external microphone and windscreen.
