“I’m using a Video Switcher (SlingStudio Live) and using their app to make my phone a camera source but I want to be mobile. Do I have to use their app? Can I not just open the Video Console app for my switcher and use that? I just need the stabilization.”

Yes you can use another camera app while still using the osmo, however some features like tracking, and the zoom on the osmo may not work with the other camera apps. The stabilization will be fine.
