Yes it should work with the iPhone 12. I have the 11 and it's heavy enough. I just use the basic base plate and then a phone mount that I found on amazon for like $10. All you have to do after balancing it is to Auto tuning the motors through the app. I like using it with my phone and it replaced my camera for a while.
