for automatic I set it at 40%, have forced air heat, I find that when the furnace runs more (colder weather) the humidifier uses more water. I usually add a gallon morning and again at night. I like that I get an alert if it's out of water.

Humidifier water consumption depends on ambient temperature and humidity If the environment is cold/dry, the humidifier will run out of water faster. 2. 2. If you use the warm mist function, the water will be used up faster. 3. 3. You can switch to auto mode to adjust the mist volume according to the humidity of the room.
