• A:Answer for automatic I set it at 40%, have forced air heat, I find that when the furnace runs more (colder weather) the humidifier uses more water. I usually add a gallon morning and again at night. I like that I get an alert if it's out of water.

• A:Answer Yes it has a light on the side . It turns off based on # of times you push the light symbol. Instructions are very clear. It changes color based on humidity level. 30-60% is green. Hope that helps

• A:Answer Took me some time but figured it out. After you take off the little black filter thingy.. shine a flashlight down there and you'll see four little pieces of tape around that area. I just sliced them with some scissors.. then tried again pushing the filter down.. and it worked, it snaps into place. You do have to push pretty darn hard though. They should explain this more with a little more detail in the instructions. Good luck
